For one night every year, fine wine and fine food come together as one in “The Art of Wine & Food” at the New Britain Museum of American Art. MaryEllen Fillo, columnist for the Hartford Courant has called this event a party that is sure to impress!
Honorary Chair Gesine Bullock-Prado, the author of the memoir My Life from Scratch and the cookbooks Sugar Baby, Pie It Forward and Bake It Like You Mean It will be on hand throughout the evening to mingle with guests and sign cookbooks. She will be joined by many of the region’s most well-regarded Chefs whose delectable dishes will be paired with impressive wines from around the world for this one-of-a-kind prestigious event. The evening will also feature live and silent auctions full of exciting and unique offerings. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy this spectacular evening of superb food and wine in a dynamic setting.
All funds raised will benefit the Museum’s Family and Educational Programming, called “vibrant” and “accessible” by the Museum’s accrediting body, the American Alliance of Museums. With education at the heart of the NBMAA’s mission, the Museum seeks to be one of the most effective centers for learning in the region by creating an optimal learning environment for the Museum’s diverse audiences. In fiscal year 2012, we welcomed over 70,000 visitors and reached over 15,000 students and families. Your involvement in The Art of Wine & Food will help to provide free or discounted tours for students across the state, preserve our low fees for art studio classes, underwrite weekly after-school programs open to at-risk youth, and sustain the popular hands-on ArtLab for children and families.

Patron Tickets: $350 per person 
(tax deductible less $75 per ticket).

Honorary chair and special guest Gesine Bullock-Prado.

Gesine Bullock-Prado, the author of baking memoir My Life from Scratch and the cookbooks Sugar Baby, Pie It Forward and Bake It Like You Mean It, lives in Hartford, Vermont, with three dogs, eight chickens, twelve Indian Runner ducks, nine geese, sheep and one wonderful husband. She uses her animal’s eggs and milk in her commercial bakery and maintains historic apple trees, boils the sap from her sugar maples for a year round supply of syrup and plays in her large garden to harvest the ingredients that bring her pastries to vibrant life. She’s a contributing guest food editor for Runner’s World, providing runners with healthy alternatives to their favorite goodies. Bullock-Prado and her sweets have been featured on the Today Show, and Rachael Ray Show, Food Network, and in Better Homes & Gardens, In Style and People Magazine.
